Should learning be done just at school?

Emotional Bingo: Students will be given bingo cards with different emotions on them that they would need to mark off as the emotion is called out or shown.

Self-regulation skills in the classroom.

Self-regulation is the ability to manage your thoughts and emotions.

In the classroom teachers can open up a discussion with a student who is struggling to self-regulate. Helping them talk about their feelings can help them understand what they are feeling and be able to sooth themselves the next time. Encouraging deep breathing exercise so student is able to calm down and reflect on what they were feeling and why.

Parents can help child name and understand their emotions. Give child a safe space to talk about their feelings or take a break and relax until ready to discuss. Parents can also give children praise for knowing their emotions and talking through them. 

Parents are encouraged to have patience and show your child its ok to feel as long as you can come back from those feelings do not get stuck in them.
